Still Life with Red Grapes

Thelma Rosner

The genre of still life was generally under appreciated by art historians. However, the meanings of these modest objects are profound, and can be interpreted as comments about mortality and the ethical choices we face during our lives.

Thelma Rosner has been working as an artist since the 1970s. She has exhibited her work in Canada, the US and England. She has received grants from the Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council, and has been an artist in residence several times at the Banff Centre for the Arts. An exhibition of her large paintings and prints is currently on view at Strand Fine Arts Services, 1161 Florence St (entrance off Eleanor St) in east London.
